Welcome to Anna’s safe space.
My name is Anna. I live in Hamburg, Germany, and I work both face-to-face and online with individuals and couples struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and psychological trauma. Among my clients, you can find German nationals residing both in Germany and abroad, individuals born in Germany and other countries who consider Germany their home, members of transnational families, and people of diverse nationalities and cultures. For more than ten years, I have supported my clients in dealing with cultural transitions, losses, grieving, and adaptation to new environments. Additionally, I have been helping transnational families to establish and maintain an emotional connection between family members of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. My counseling room is your safe space to feel connected, understood, and accepted just the way you are. My goal is not only to help you heal from your symptoms, but ultimately to assist you in developing more resilience, well-being, and positive regard through connecting to yourself and others.
I work with individuals ages 25-95 from many different cultures, religions, and nationalities. I invite you to read about my therapeutic approach and counseling experience, and I hope it will help you decide whether working with me feels comfortable and right for you.
Online Counseling
Please note that my practice is based in Germany. While in some other countries online psychotherapy has been well-established for many years, German law does not always recognize online sessions aimed at treating mental conditions to be true psychotherapy. At the moment, psychotherapy can only take place online after an initial face-to-face diagnosis. For these reasons, I refer to all my online services as online counseling or psychotherapeutic counseling.
Since 2020 I offer both individual and couples counseling online.
Sessions take place in the form of a video call. We usually use both sound and video to create the atmosphere of face-to-face conversation. I can then hear your voice and intonation and see your face and non-verbal cues. It allows me to use the same tools I use for a face-to-face counseling session.

Testimonials about therapy with Anna
I have worked with Anna at different times and on different issues – from personal challenges around working and living in a different culture to relationship counselling. She is a very compassionate and skilled listener, and she has really helped me feel more empowered, capable and at peace in various situations.
Working with Anna was a very useful experience. I managed to resolve many issues and become energized to undertake new endeavors. 🙂 I managed to cast a new glance over my life (look at my life from another point/angle), start trusting myself again and regain confidence. I am trying not to forget the advice on emotional stabilization and use my energy on a proper cause. Thank you for your help.
I approached Anna to learn to deal with sometimes overbearing personalities in the extended family without losing my own voice and values. Anna has expertise in cross cultural psychology, and she is a relatable expat. Both of which have immeasurable value to me in understanding the influence of inherent cultural background and the true meaning of integration.
